Study Description
KDOT will study 36 miles of U.S. 56 in McPherson and Marion counties to develop project design options. The study will focus on adding paved shoulders and identifying locations for passing lanes. It will also explore opportunities to prioritize safety along the corridor including consolidating highway access points and intersection improvements. The passing lanes portion of this project was identified as a top priority in District 2 at 2023 Local Consult.
