Send and Receive Alerts About Incidents and Conditions on KDOT Roadways

Users now have multiple options to receive alerts about things like icy roads, fog, and crashes. Users will be able to receive alerts directly through their smartphone or if connected to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Voice alerts are activated using the “Tell Me” alerts button when using the app (see video below).

Incident reporting through the KanDrive app can be done a number of ways:

  • Hands-free voice reporting through iPhone and Apple CarPlay. When driving, tell Siri: “Hey Siri, report a concern to KanDrive.” (voice reporting coming soon to Android and Android Auto)

  • Using the touchscreen dashboard connected to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. See “Integrate with Apple CarPlay” section below for details.

Available now on the Alexa app or Alexa-enabled device.

Check out the video below for more details:

New ways to get Work Zone Information

KanDrive already helps drivers “know before you go” by showing real-time work zone updates directly in the app.

Now, that same trusted information is being shared beyond KanDrive—with other apps, vehicles with advanced capabilities, and even self-driving technologies. This means these vehicles can connect to your phone, traffic signals, and more to stay updated on work zones and road conditions automatically.

The update works seamlessly in the background, so you’ll still experience KanDrive exactly as you do now—just with the added benefit of broader, smarter connectivity.

Display Oversized Truck Locations (U.S. 83 Corridor Only)

See the real-time location of oversize vehicles on U.S. 83. This feature can be switched on and off when using the website and mobile app to see the real-time location of oversize vehicles on U.S. 83. My KanDrive users can also receive text, email, and/or push notifications if a load is traveling in their saved route or area. This enhancement is only currently available on U.S. 83 in Thomas, Logan, Scott and Finney Counties.

Oversize load companies and drivers can use this Help Guide to view the steps it takes to register their oversize load before travelling on U.S. 83.
