Project Description
Phase 2A
The first phase of the I-135 Gold Project included replacing the southbound I-135 ramp to southbound I-235, replacing the northbound I-135 loop ramp to southbound I-235 with a new two-lane flyover ramp, and extending the acceleration lane on the westbound K-254 ramp to southbound I-135. Work on Gold Project Phase 2A began in April 2021 and was completed in December 2023.
Phase 2B
Gold Project Phase 2B includes a new direct connection for eastbound K-96 traffic from northbound I-235 and new ramps for westbound K-96 traffic at I-135. The direct connection for eastbound K-96 from northbound I-235 was completed in December 2024. Work on the new ramps for westbound K-96 traffic at I-135 is underway, with completion anticipated in Spring 2028.
