Project Description

The I-35 and Gardner Road interchange is a vital southern gateway to Gardner and a key connection for the region. The current bridge and ramps are reaching the end of their functional life, with traffic congestion, limited lane capacity, and no pedestrian accommodations.

This project will replace the existing bridge, improve selected ramps and prepare the interchange for future expansion all while keeping traffic moving as much as possible during construction. Updated design features will prioritize safety and improve traffic operations, and multimodal access. Construction will be carefully staged to maintain access to the interchange and minimize disruption to residents, businesses, and commuters.
