Eligible Locations and Entities:

A systemic analysis showed that most fatal and serious injury crashes at stop-controlled intersections occurred on the local network within urban area boundaries, especially on roads classified as a major collector or minor arterial. The interactive map listed in the “Resources” section below shows the eligible locations in Phase 1 of HRUR.   

 

Timeline:

The application will be open annually at the beginning of each Federal Fiscal Year (FFY). For FFY26, the timeline is as follows:

October 16, 2025

Webinar hosted and application opens.

November 21, 2025

Applications due to KDOT via online survey.

December 2025

Project selections and announcement of awards.

February 2026

KDOT will order materials through the selected vendor.

Fall 2026

Award recipients must install the materials at the specified locations within six months of receipt and provide KDOT with photographic proof of installation.
