Eligible Locations and Entities:
A systemic analysis showed that most fatal and serious injury crashes at stop-controlled intersections occurred on the local network within urban area boundaries, especially on roads classified as a major collector or minor arterial. The interactive map listed in the “Resources” section below shows the eligible locations in Phase 1 of HRUR.
Timeline:
The application will be open annually at the beginning of each Federal Fiscal Year (FFY). For FFY26, the timeline is as follows:

Project selections and announcement of awards. |

KDOT will order materials through the selected vendor. |

Award recipients must install the materials at the specified locations within six months of receipt and provide KDOT with photographic proof of installation. |
