The Bureau of Transportation Safety maintains a list of approved Crash Modification Factors to be used in the state of Kansas. CMFs give an estimated effectiveness for engineering safety countermeasures.

Planning Level CMF List (Level 1) 

The Level 1 CMF List is designed for ease of use. Appropriate applications include statewide, regional, and planning level analyses. 

Project Level CMF List and Tools (Level 2) 

The Level 2 CMF List is designed for detailed project level analysis and requires a thorough understanding of safety analysis principles. The Level 2 CMF List references spreadsheets used to calculate the CMF of three engineering safety countermeasures:
