This training is approved to meet the 8 hour training requirement for recertification.  Retired LT Don Marose from the Minnesota State Patrol will present on multiple topics.  He was previously the Minnesota State DRE Coordinator and has served on multiple panels and committees within the DRE community.  This will also include any updates in the DRE program and well as address other issues in the KS DRE program.  Please bring your DRE equipment with you, to include your DRE tablet for annual inventory.

Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (A.R.I.D.E) is a 16-hour training course designed for officers that are highly proficient and active in alcohol impaired driving enforcement. This is advanced training for officers that have completed Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training to give them additional skills to recognize signs and symptoms of impairment from drugs other than alcohol.
 
Officers applying to attend the ARIDE course must be currently credentialed in SFST and will be required to first pass a proficiency test demonstrating their skills in conducting the three SFST tests, which are the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test, Walk and Turn Test and the One Leg Stand Test. Officers unable to demonstrate acceptable proficiency will not be allowed to complete the training. ARIDE training, in addition to current SFST Training and Credentialing,  is now a pre-requisite for DRE Training starting with the 2017 DRE Class.

This course is free to all officers.

This is the SFST Instructor Inservice for the 2026-2027 SFST Refresher Cycle.  This in-service will cover the newest SFST Refresher.  Instructors will be given the SFST Refresher materials upon successful completion.  Please bring your updated 2025-2026 SFST Instructor logs and a flash drive to receive the Refresher Program.

This class is offered at no cost. 

These courses are 4 hour SFST re-certification class. This course is for any certified law enforcement officer who is in need of SFST re-certification. Any full-time, part-time or reserve officer is welcome to attend. There is no tuition cost for this training. This course will provide you training with new tools to detect impaired drivers and to combat the growing drunk driving problem in every community.
