Kansas has a rich aviation history dating back to the early 1900s, and the KDOT Division of Aviation was officially established to coordinate and support statewide airport development. Over the years, it has evolved into a nationally recognized agency for advancing airport infrastructure, aviation safety, and innovation—including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
