Overnight I-70 closures to occur for bridge replacement in Junction City
Overnight work on Monday, April 6, and Wednesday, April 8, is planned and will temporarily close a portion of I-70 at J-Hill Road in Geary County, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation. These closures are necessary to place bridge girders and continue progressing on bridge replacement.
- Beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, westbound I-70 will close and reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 7.
- Beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, eastbound I-70 will close and reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday, April 9.
During the closures, traffic will be diverted up and down the interchange ramps, and local traffic will be unable to access I-70 at exit 299 (J-Hill Road).
King Construction of Hesston is the prime contractor of the bridge replacement project, which is scheduled to be complete by July, conditions permitting.
