Westbound I-70 bridge project to start next week in Wabaunsee County
The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a bridge repair project on westbound I-70 in Wabaunsee County on Monday, March 30. The project includes deck patching, concrete surface repairs and overlay on the structure over Pretty Creek, located just east of the K-99 interchange.
For the duration of the project, westbound I-70 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone. A 12-foot width restriction and reduced speed limit of 60 mph will also be in place.
Work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours and is expected to be complete by late June.
All project work and traffic changes are conditions permitting and subject to change.
PCI Roads, LLC, of St. Michael, Minnesota, is the prime contractor for the $292,000 project.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit KanDrive.gov or call 511. For updates on highway projects in northeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/NortheastNews.
