U.S. 281 work to resume in Osborne County
The Kansas Department of Transportation will resume work on a portion of U.S. 281 in Osborne County starting the week of March 30.
The work marks the final phase of the $18.9 million modernization project to improve the 3.5-mile stretch from Portis to the north U.S. 24 junction and replace the North Fork Solomon River bridge.
Construction crews will complete final surfacing and shoulder work and install pavement markings and rumble strips. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Delays of up to 15 minutes should be anticipated.
KDOT expects work to be completed by the end of April, conditions permitting.
