Beginning Monday, March 2, K-177 will close for a bridge replacement and reconstruction of the highway in Morris County.

During construction, K-177 will be closed to all thru traffic from the U.S. 56/K-177 junction at Council Grove to the U.S. 50/K-177 junction west of Strong City.

Thru traffic will be directed to follow the state detour on U.S. 56, U.S. 56/U.S. 77 and K-150. KDOT uses state highways for official detour routes for safety, weight and maintenance concerns.

Bergkamp Construction Co. Inc. of Wichita is the primary contractor for this $9.5 million project and has scheduled work to be completed in fall 2026, conditions permitting.
