167th Street at U.S. 69 in Overland Park will be closed over weekend
Eastbound and westbound 167th Street, between Metcalf Avenue and Antioch Road, and adjacent ramps, in Overland Park are fully closed to traffic from Thursday, Nov. 6 to Monday, Nov. 10 at 6 a.m. All northbound and southbound U.S.69/167th Street entrance and exit ramps will remain closed during this period.
These temporary closures are necessary to complete pavement work and place pavement marking. The work is part of the Kansas Department of Transportation U.S. 69 Corridor Modernization and Expansion Project (69Express). All scheduled project work is weather permitting and subject to change.
During the closures, detours will be marked as follows:
Eastbound 167th Street traffic:
- Turn on to Antioch Road and continue north, then turn right on 159th Street to travel east to Metcalf Avenue. Turn right on Metcalf Avenue and travel south to 167th Street.
Westbound 167th Street traffic:
- Turn on to Metcalf Avenue and continue north, then turn left on 159th Street to travel west to Antioch Road. Turn left on Antioch Road and travel south to 167th Street.
The 69Express project includes reconstruction of U.S. 69, widening the highway with added express lanes – one in each direction between 151st and 103rd Streets – and interchange improvements at U.S. 69/167th Street in Overland Park.
All current U.S. 69 corridor construction and closure information is available on the 69Express project website, www.69express.org. For additional information, members of the public can get regular construction updates on the project on Facebook and X pages and by subscribing to the project newsletter and signing up to receive text message alerts.
