Emergency bridge reinforcement under U.S. 54 on east edge of El Dorado to begin Nov. 10, road will stay open
Monday, Nov. 10, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) plans to start an emergency reinforcement project on the Walnut River bridge on the east edge of El Dorado that carries U.S. 54 in Butler County.
The work to reinforce a pier that supports the bridge will begin with mobilization of equipment and the closure of the walking pathway the week of Nov. 10. U.S. 54 traffic will continue as normal between then and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
No work will occur during the Thanksgiving travel period.
KDOT awarded Wildcat Construction of Wichita the $335,740 construction contract.
