Signing project in south central Kansas begins this week
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will start work this week on a signing improvement project along highways in south central Kansas.
KDOT is upgrading signage on U.S. 50 from U.S. 281 to the Stafford/Reno county line, on U.S 54. in Pratt County, on U.S. 281 from the Barber/Pratt county line to U.S. 50, on K-42 from U.S. 281 to Nashville and on K-61 from U.S. 54 to K-11.
Project work will primarily be limited to highway shoulders and minimal impacts on traffic are expected. Martin Outdoor Enterprises, Inc., of Pittsburg, is the primary contractor for the $1.2 million project. The project is expected to be complete in spring 2026, conditions permitting.
