Ramp changes on the Kansas Department of Transportation’s U.S. 24 reconstruction project in Shawnee and Jefferson counties have been rescheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
On that date, the on-ramp to eastbound U.S. 24 at the K-4/Calhoun Bluff Road junction will reopen to traffic. Crews will then close the eastbound U.S. 24 exit ramp to northbound K-4. The exit is expected to remain closed until late December.
During the closure, motorists can follow the marked detour north on Topeka Boulevard and east on N.E. 46th Street, or use alternate routes that are not marked.
The eastbound U.S. 24 ramps to and from K-4/Oakland Expressway that were previously closed in March will remain closed until December.
All project work and traffic changes are conditions permitting.
