Bridge repair to begin on K-27 in Morton County
The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a bridge repair project along K-27 in Morton County the week of Sept. 22, over the Cimarron River north of Elkhart.
Traffic along K-27 will be reduced to one lane to allow bridge repair work to take place. Motorists should expect minimal delays. Temporary traffic signals will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone, and signs and cones will mark the lane reduction. The traffic signals and an 11-foot-width restriction will be in effect throughout the project.
PBX Corporation & Subsidiary, of Sapulpa Oklahoma, is the contractor on this $394,294.26 project that is expected to be completed by mid-October, conditions permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to kandrive.gov or call 511.
