The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin an overlay project on U.S. 50 in Reno County on Monday, Sept. 22. The project will improve the road surface, extending the pavement’s service life.
Work will take place from the Stafford and Reno County line east to South Sego Road, about 16 miles.
Traffic will be guided through the area with flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
APAC-Kansas, of Hutchinson, is the prime contractor on the $3.8 million project which is expected to be completed by the end of November, conditions permitting. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
