Segments of northbound and southbound U.S. 69, between 119th Street and Blue Valley Parkway in Overland Park, will close overnight, Aug. 27 and Aug. 28, for overhead sign installation.
The temporary closures are part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s U.S. 69 Corridor Modernization and Expansion Project (69Express). All work schedules are conditions permitting.
All southbound U.S. 69 lanes from 119th Street to Blue Valley Parkway will close at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27 and will reopen by 6 a.m. on Aug. 28.
All northbound U.S. 69 lanes from Blue Valley Parkway to 119th Street will close at 9 p.m. Aug. 27 and will reopen by 6 a.m. Aug. 28.
All southbound U.S. 69 lanes from 119th Street to Blue Valley Parkway will close at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 and will reopen by 6 a.m. on Aug. 29.
During the closures, traffic will be detoured as follows:
- Northbound U.S. 69: use the Blue Valley Parkway exit and turn left onto 119th Street, then travel west on 119th Street to the northbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp.
- Southbound U.S. 69: use the 119th Street exit and turn left onto 119th Street, then travel east. Turn right on Blue Valley Parkway and travel south to the southbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp.
- 119th Street to enter southbound U.S. 69: turn onto Switzer Road then travel south, then turn left onto 135th Street and travel east to the southbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp.
