The speed limit will be reduced from 65 miles per hour to 55 mph to encourage safer driving behavior and reduce speeds within this corridor.
The new speed limits will affect the following areas:
• Westbound: The 55 mph zone begins just west of 150th Street and extends to approximately a half-mile west of 158th Street.
• Eastbound: The 55 mph zone starts approximately a half-mile west of 158th Street and continues to just west of 150th Street.
Additionally, dynamic speed feedback signs, which show drivers their current speed, will be installed later this fall to further alert drivers to the change.
