Resurfacing on K-82 to begin in Clay, Geary, Riley counites
Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) plans to begin a resurfacing project on about 10.5 miles of K-82.
The project is a mill and overlay from the K-15/K-82 junction to the K-82/U.S. 77 junction in Clay, Geary and Riley counties.
During daylight hours, flaggers and a pilot car will guide one lane of traffic through construction at a reduced speed. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
Shilling Construction Co., of Manhattan, is the prime contractor for this $2.4 million project and has scheduled all work to be completed in October, conditions permitting.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 5-1-1. For updates on highway projects in north central Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/about/our-organization/districts/district-2-north-central-kansas#!/.
