U.S. 36 resurfacing work to begin Monday

Post Date:08/08/2025 10:13 AM

Resurfacing work is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 11 in Marshall County, conditions permitting. The Kansas Department of Transportation’s mill and overlay project covers about 8 miles of U.S. 36, from the Washington/Marshall County line to 4th Street in Marysville.

During construction, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. A 10-foot width restriction will also be in effect for eastbound traffic.

Work will take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours, with occasional Saturday work, and is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Hall Brothers, Inc., of Marrysville is the prime contractor for this $4 million project.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit KanDrive.gov or call 511. For updates on highway projects in northeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/bureaus/offtransinfo/NENRelese.asp.
