The Kansas Department of Transportation will host an open house for the California Avenue over I-70 bridge replacement project on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lakewood Shelter House, at 2301 S.E. Lakewood Boulevard in Topeka.
The public is invited to review construction information and speak with members of the project team. There will be no formal presentation, and attendees may come and go at any time.
The project will replace the California Avenue bridge over I-70 in Topeka. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 and expected to be complete in fall 2026, conditions permitting. The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction.
