Drainpipe replacement on K-31 Aug. 12
A Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) project to install a drainpipe under K-31 in Coffey County will take place August 12.
The pipe is being installed to improve drainage and prevent deterioration of the highway, as the current culvert pipe is failing.
The road will be closed east of Waverly, just east of Verdure Road. The hope is to keep the closure to a single day.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in Southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/southeast-kansas-projects.
The area of the replacement is in orange.
