Drainpipe installation under K-68 next week

Post Date:07/25/2025 1:00 PM

A Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) project to install a drainpipe under K-68 in Franklin County will take place starting July 29.

The pipe is being installed to improve drainage and prevent deterioration of the highway.

A lane will be closed. Traffic will be guided by flaggers through the intersection at K-68 and Texas Road in Franklin County, as the drainpipe is just east of that intersection.

The lane closure is scheduled to last two days, conditions permitting.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in Southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/southeast-kansas-projects.

The area of the project is orange in the map.
