KDOT to host public open house on August 7 for K-33 improvements
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will host a public open house for proposed improvements to K-33 in Douglas and Franklin counties on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Wellsville City Library, 115 West 6th St. in Wellsville.
The open house, which will have no set agenda, will feature proposed plans for review. This project is in the preliminary design stage, and input is needed to determine the best path forward.
Property owners and local officials will receive a mailing for separate meetings earlier in the day to address their concerns.
The project’s goal is to improve K-33 from 6th Street in Wellsville north to the K-33/U.S. 56 junction.
If you are unable to attend, information and an opportunity for comments will be available online following the meeting at ksdot.gov/K33-Improvements.
If you need special assistance at the meeting, please contact KDOT Division of Communications at 785-296-3585 (Voice) / 711 (Hearing Impaired). Requests should be made at least three days prior to the meeting to provide adequate time for KDOT to schedule accommodation services.
The proposed area of improvements is in orange.
