Garnett roundabout project enters next phase
A Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expansion project on the roundabout at U.S. 169 and U.S. 59 in Garnett will enter its next phase the week of July 28.
The road at the roundabout is to be closed. Traffic will detour via U.S. 59/Business 169 route through the south side of the city. The full closure is expected to last one week.
Work is expected to be completed on the entire project by mid-July 2026, conditions permitting.
KDOT awarded the $5.9 million contract to Clarkson Construction Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in Southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/southeast-kansas-projects.
