KDOT to host public open house on July 30 for U.S. 54 Kingman Bypass project

Post Date:07/11/2025 8:03 AM

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will host a public open house for the U.S. 54 Kingman Bypass project on Wednesday, July 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Kingman Expo Center at 121 South Main Street in Kingman.

The public open house will not follow a set agenda and will feature proposed plans for review. This project is in the preliminary design stage and was identified as a top priority through KDOT’s Local Consult in 2023.

This project is to realign U.S. 54 to a four-lane freeway north of Kingman. A fly-over ramp connection with the existing U.S. 54/400 east of Kingman will also be included.

If you are unable to attend, information and an opportunity for comments will be available online following the meeting at ksdot.gov/Kingman-Bypass.

If you need special assistance at the meeting, please contact KDOT Division of Communications at 785-296-3585 (Voice) / 711 (Hearing Impaired). Requests should be made at least three days prior to the meeting to provide adequate time for KDOT to schedule accommodation services.

The map shows the project location.

This is the proposed route for the Kingman bypass. It runs north of the city.
