Areas of K-10 to be reduced this week for SLT work
Post Date:07/08/2025 2:39 PM
Work on the Kansas Department of Transportation’s South Lawrence Trafficway (SLT) project will require temporary lane reductions on K-10 this week.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the reduced areas from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., conditions permitting. Motorists should plan for the following and allow extra time for travel:
• Tomorrow, July 9: K-10 will be reduced to one lane between Kasold Drive and U.S. 59/Iowa Street.
• Thursday, July 10: K-10 will be reduced to one lane through the Clinton Parkway interchange.
The reductions are necessary so that crews can place concrete barriers along the roadway that will close off the shoulder areas for widening work. These barriers are expected to be in place for approximately four weeks.
A 12-foot width restriction and reduced work zone speed limit of 55 mph will also go into effect through the SLT project corridor between U.S. 40/6th Street and U.S. 59/Iowa Street.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit KanDrive.gov or call 511. For updates on highway projects in northeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/bureaus/offtransinfo/NENRelese.asp.
