Guardrail project begins July 7 in Ness County
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin a guardrail improvement project Monday, July 7 on K-96, from the east city limits of Ness City to the Ness/Rush county line.
Guardrails will be upgraded at several locations along the route. Motorists should be aware of potential delays of up to 10 minutes, as multiple traffic signals will control traffic in different sections of the project area throughout construction. Signs and cones will mark the work zone.
Klaver Construction Company Inc., of Wichita, is the contractor for the $6.5 million project. Work is expected to be completed by April 2026, weather permitting.
For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, Construction Manager, at 620-682-7938, or Yazmin Moreno, Public Information Officer, at 620-765-7080.
