Post Date:06/26/2025 12:49 PM

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is working on bridge repairs on K-1 in Comanche County.

The repairs are on two bridges over the Salt Fork Arkansas River about 7.5 miles north of the Oklahoma/Kansas state line, south of U.S. 160. Traffic is reduced to one lane with automated traffic signals in place.

The work is scheduled for completion around mid-October, conditions permitting. Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Salina is the lead contractor on the $2 million project.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
