Short-term pavement marking project on U.S. 160 in Sumner County
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin a short-distance pavement marking project in Sumner County next week. This work aims to refresh existing markings, improving visibility for summer travelers.
The project will mark U.S. 160 from Seneca Road to about 850 feet west of Broadway Road.
During the project, U.S. 160 will be reduced to one lane, with flagging operations at each end of the project.. Additionally, flaggers will be stationed at the Kansas Turnpike ramps to guide traffic safely through the area.
KDOT intends to complete the marking before the July 4 holiday, conditions permitting.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
