Resurfacing to begin on K-27 in Hamilton County
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, a highway resurfacing project is expected to start the week of April 21 along K-27 north of Syracuse, starting from the west U.S. 50/ K-27 junction north to the Greeley/ Hamilton county line.
K-27 will be reduced to one lane in smaller sections as work takes place on the 19.4-mile project area. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-27 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., of Topeka, is the contractor on this $2.9 million project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by mid-June.
