Survey for proposed K-4 bridges in Rush County to start soon
A field survey for three proposed K-4 replacement bridges in Rush County is scheduled to begin around Jan. 25.
The proposed improvements are on K-4: over Sand Creek drainage 7.39 miles east of U.S. 183; over Walnut Creek drainage 9.08 miles east of U.S. 183; over Road 360 a little over 11 miles east of U.S. 183.
The survey is based on existing alignment.
The field survey is for detailed design of the proposed improvements and is estimated to be completed by March 20.
A member of the survey crew first will contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property. Survey activities will include use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.
Jim Nider, P.S., Survey Project Manager, SMH, will be in charge of this survey for the Kansas Department of Transportation. T
